With our spring/summer collection fully delivered, we’ve had time to work on some stuff behind the scenes. One of these projects was expanding our online store with more denim-related educational pages, of which the first iteration is now live as our CARE, WASH & REPAIR segment.

The DENIM CARE INSTRUCTIONS goes over some of the basics regarding the introduction to dry denim and how to cherish and care for your clothing. We also go over topics like pre-soaking and indigo bleeding, hoping to answer most of the questions you might have when you’re about to break in a brand-new pair of jeans.

Then, the WASH GUIDE will explain our take on the (controversial) subject of washing your jeans; when, how, but also why to wash. There is no definitive right way, and it all comes down to personal preferences.

Lastly, when it comes to buying and wearing jeans, you cannot get around the subject of HEMMING & REPAIR. In this article we will further expand on this.

When buying a pair of jeans or pants directly from us, they always come in a standard inseam length. This will give you the choice of adjusting the length in two ways: cuffing, or getting them hemmed at your exact specifications. Hemming jeans and getting repairs done, can be carried out anywhere, but if you like to keep the materials as close to original as possible, we also offer these services through our webshop and select nominated hemming & repair partners. We provided them with our threads and trims, making it possible to fully match the adjustments and repairs with the materials used for the original garment.

If you have decided to place an order through our webshop, you have the option to include hemming to your order. This service is managed by our Dutch partner SASHIKODENIM, whom we recently visited for a photo shoot of their workspace, as pictured in this article.

For our customers from the United States, we have partnered with Rain Delisle of Indigo Proof. She’s been professionally repairing and altering jeans for over a decade, on new and vintage machines, including an original Union Special 43200G which is used for the hemming of our jeans, and carries original BENZAK threads and hardware to perfectly match your new jeans.
